Wudang Tai Chi Sword is a unique style among Wudang martial arts. It perfectly reflects Daoist culture and philosophy, such as Qigong practices of transforming the energy substance of the body into the spiritual one, followed by return into the emptiness and reaching the Dao. It also helps strengthen your body, improve your health, train self-defense, and prolong your life; therefore combining characteristics of a martial art and a health preservation exercise.
The Wudang Seven Stars Sword is an archaic sword practice system. This regime asks for great strength or a solid basic training. In the Seven Stars Sword regime many moves are for practical use. Apart from sword, you use your legs to work with other tactics, this makes the Wudang sword techniques very unique.
Wudang Sword originated and evolved from Taoist ceremonies and religious rituals. Meantime Wudang Jian is also famous in the world. The sword embodies a flying dragon. Swords are very flexible and can move like a flying dragon. Equipped with such flexibility, you are like one with your sword. The highest level to reach while practicing is to become one with your sword.
To learn Wudang Tai Chi Jian requires a long time of basics training. You should be able to lunge with sound. Only then you can feel the strength coming from your feet to your waist, shoulder, elbow, hand-wrist and then to the tip of the sword. The sword exercise cannot be performed correctly when you´ve not relaxed. In such case when you strike, the strength cannot pass to the tip of the sword. The power should come from your Dantian. When you lunge, relax. Keep the sword steady, it shouldn´t shake around, all movements have to be controlled and you should hold the hilt tight in your hand to prevent uncontrolled shaking of your sword.
